In order to maintain CaNNet as it is right now and enable us to move
forward, we are asking all of our major bloggers, hosting partners and
prayer partners to look under as many rocks as they can to find monthly
funding associates for CaNNet. In order to move forward past the end of
August, we would need 10 people, parishes or organizations committed to
giving $300 per month. At that level, we could once again afford to offer
our sites and hosting packages for next to nothing, and work towards
securing funding for our beloved Binky (who many of you know personally) on
a new venture called "The Anglican Times." Your pledges would not simply
assist us, but would filter down to the people, parishes and organizations
that we serve. You're not just supporting CaNNet, you're supporting the
ministries of countless people by giving them an outlet for their voice to
be heard and bringing encouragement to those who so desperately need it, and
in return for your kindness, we would like to offer you a token of our
gratitude.

This is a fairly desperate situation in that if we are unable to secure some
initial pledges very shortly, we will be forced to drastically scale back
the level of service which we would like to continue to provide, as our Web Verger
would need to find employment elsewhere, diverting his attention away from
CaNNet.

We have already secured two pledges for the first year and would be
delighted if you, your friends, organizations or vestries would consider
following suit.

What does this mean for existing bloggers?

We would continue to support our existing bloggers as they are, but would be unable to bring on any new blogs as maintaining the network as it is now is quite time consuming and costly.

What is the future of CaNNet?

We would like to continue to provide our services to the orthodox communion and expand them to encompass web design, development, hosting and archiving. There would be one significant difference, though. We want to do it for free. That can't be a reality without your support, so please consider giving generously.
